  • How did Gandhi defeat the British in India? (5 minutes)
  • Finish “Secret Soviet Moon Mission” and turn in story notes sheet. (10 minutes)
  • Turn to the “Conflicts in the Middle East” page in the packet for and use pages 583-589 in your text to complete.  Be prepared to discuss. (15 minutes)
  • Turn to page 641 in your text.  Answer # 3, 5, & 6 on p. 646.  Also answer this question, “How does OPEC influence economic and political policy globally? Be prepared to discuss. (20 minutes)
  • I will hand out the Suez Crisis document packet.  Read the one page overview of the crisis. (5 minutes)
  • Work through the documents, first together, then on your own. (20 minutes)
  • Turn in the Cold War packet.
  • Any remaining time may be used to complete the Semester learning targets packet and review for Tuesday’s final.

Extra credit film review due by the end of the day.  Be sure to return textbooks, review books, and review book keys.

Ammon and Xing still need to return the final exemption form.

That’s it!  The school year is done except for finals!  It has been a pleasure (mostly).  I hope that you feel more knowledgeable and more capable now than at the beginning (no matter what you may score on the AP exam)!

  • If you have not yet turned in the story notes for Soviet Sports Wars, please do so today.
  • Review the “Wars in Korea and Vietnam”, “Cold War Divides the World”, and the “The Cold War Thaws” pages.  Prepare to discuss setting, characters, and plot. (30 minutes)
  • Turn to the “The Indian Subcontinent Achieves Freedom” page in the packet and complete this for Tuesday.

  • Do Now- How did the Bay of Pigs disaster lead to the Cuban Missile Crisis? (5 minutes)
  • Take out your “Soviet Sports Wars” note sheet.  Prepare to finish your notes over the film. (30 minutes)
  • Review the “Wars in Korea and Vietnam” page.  Be prepared to discuss setting, characters, and plot. (10 minutes)
  • Do the “Cold War Divides the World” page in the packet as homework.
  • Do the “The Cold War Thaws” page in the packet for Monday as homework.
  • By the end of the period, you should be able to answer learning target questions 1-15.

APUSH Film Festival continues. . .

Film reviews for C.S.A. and King of the Hill are due on Friday at Turnitin.com.  Answer the following questions:

  • What was the purpose of the film?
  • How well was the purpose achieved?
  • To what audience(s) would you recommend this film?

You will want to include examples from the films to illustrate your points.  Not more than 750 words, but probably not less than 400 words will be necessary to adequately address these questions.

All w.i.p.s, missing DBQs, quiz re-takes will need to be done by this Friday!

  • Do now- How did U.S. involvement in Korea reflect the Truman Doctrine? (5 minutes)
  • Turn in the Cold War vocab to the tray by the door.  If you don’t have the vocab, sign up for Overtime (to be attended on Monday) on the clipboard to be able to earn up to 90%.
  • Pick up the “Soviet Sports Wars” note sheet from the table by the door.  Prepare to take notes over the film. (50 minutes)
