  • Do Now-
    • 1. Describe the trial portrayed in the movie.
    • 2. How does this film represent the social and political inequity of the time period?.
  • Finish the film and complete the study guide.  I will collect these from you tomorrow.  (15 minutes)
  • Turn to the propaganda section of your packet and prepare to complete the questions about the posters. (30 minutes)
  • Turn to the Story page: A Flawed Peace. Take notes from the information in your book. (15-20 minutes)
  • Afterward, listen to the lecture about the Treaty of Versailles and add any information you think is important or interesting.
  • WWI test is on Monday, 4/4.  You will turn in your completed packet at that time. You should go over review questions 1-17 by today, 18-24 by Friday, and 25-27 by Monday.

  • Do Now- What were the main features of trench warfare?  Why did the fighting (especially on the Western Front) end up this way?
  • Take out the Paths of Glory study guide and prepare to watch the conclusion of the film. Also consider how technology impacts the activities of the armies and the results of the battles.
  • WWI test is on Monday, 4/4.  You should go over review questions 1-10 by today, 11-17 by Thursday, 18-24 by Friday, and 25-27 by Monday.

  • Do Now-If you were the leader of Austria-Hungary, Germany, Russia, Britain, or France what could you have done to prevent the start of WWI? Explain.
  • Make sure your causes of WWI poster is ready to turn in tomorrow.

  • Do Now- What were the MAIN causes of WWI?
  • Technology of WWI- What makes this war different?
  • On a separate piece of paper, write down at least 1 fact about the impact of each of the following military technologies on the fighting in WWI.  You may also use page 520 in your text for some of them:
    • Machine gun
    • Artillery
    • Tanks
    • Battleships
    • Submarines
    • Poison gas
  • With any time left, work on the WWI causes poster assignment in the packet. Due Tuesday.

  • Do Now- Turn in your packet to the reading on the causes of the war.  Locate and write down at least 2 facts for each of the following categories: (15 minutes)
    • Militarism (Arms Race)
    • Alliances
    • Imperialism
    • Nationalism
  • Turn in the WWI vocab packet.  Sign up for Overtime if you don’t have it and want to earn up to 90% credit.
  • We reenacted the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.
  • Use the following colors for the WWI map in the packet:
    • Allied Powers- purple
    • Central Powers- yellow
    • Western Front- blue
    • Eastern Front- red
