  • Turn in Scientific Revolution/ Enlightenment vocab.
  • Pick up the Scientific Revolutions packet.
    • Watch the rest of the video and finish your notes over:
      • Tycho Brahe
      • Johannes Kepler
      • Nicolaus Copernicus
      • Galileo Galilei
      • Isaac Newton
    • Finish the notes over remaining scientists using pages 189-194 in text.
  • Finish the remainder of the packet by Monday, 12/2.

  • Pick up the scientist list from the table by the door. Take notes over:

  • Bring your textbook to use on vocab following the test. You will not be allowed to use computers as long as anyone is still working on the assessment.
  • We will be taking the Absolutism test today. Follow the instructions on the test to write your essay. You may also use your learning targets packet. Write your name on your test.
  • When finished with the test, turn it in to the tray by the door.
  • Pick up the Scientific Revolution and Enlightenment vocab sheet and begin working on it. Due next Tuesday.

  • 50th Anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy. There is a fascinating examination of the forensic science behind the investigation on Nova.
  • Students worked on test corrections for the unit 3 objective test. These will be due December 9.
  • I emailed the unit 4 documents to your school emails yesterday. Please look at these right away, as your first reading and written assignments are to be done for Monday.

  • Bring textbook!- You will be collecting data!
  • Take out your Do Now sheets and answer the question: “How did Peter the Great change Russia from an insignificant country into a European superpower.” (3 minutes)
  • We will hear from all the remaining research groups.
  • Turn to the “What was England like. . .” page in the packet. Using information from the book, pages 180-183, give at least one example in each column for all 6 monarchs. (10 minutes)
  • By the end of today, you should be able to answer learning target questions 15 & 17.
  • Turn to the story notes page on “The Emergence of Austria & Prussia.” Complete using pages 169-173 of your text.
  • Test Friday.

  • Bring Textbooks– you will be collecting info today!
  • Take out your Do Now sheets and answer the question: “Did Louis XIV strengthen or weaken the French monarchy? Explain using specific examples.” (3 minutes)
  • Pick up the 30 Years’ War reading. Read and prepare to participate in brief lecture. (15 minutes)
  • Turn to the “Russia under Peter the Great” page in your packet. Using information from your book on pp. 175-177 and Peter the Great reading give specific examples for each of the 3 sections of the organizer. (15 minutes) Discuss.
  • Turn to the “What was England like. . .” page in the packet. Using information from the book, pages 180-183, give at least one example in each column for all 6 monarchs. (20 minutes)
  • For homework, complete the “Central European Monarchs Clash” page in the packet. Have this done by block.
  • Test Friday!
