Students worked in groups to prepare for the Enlightenment Thinkers press conference. Presentations are tomorrow! While I don’t expect anyone to rent an actual period costume, I would like for everyone to try to dress in a way that suggests you are not in the 21st century.

We briefly discussed the changing perceptions of democracy, who it should involve and who it should benefit.  Students then began their unit 3 presentations.  Expect to do 4-5 more on Friday following the chapter 15 & 16 vocab quiz.

Students continued research on their unit 3 topics. Each should have an outline of content to be presented by Monday. Students planning to lead discussions should have a draft of discussion questions and any advance reading they intend to distribute.

Possible formats for the presentation include, but are not limited to student-led discussions, Powerpoint/Keynote  presentations, Freemind organizers, iMovie projects, song lyrics, short stories, and more.  The idea is identify key content (issues, events, individuals, institutions) and choose a presentation format that communicates that content clearly and effectively to the rest of the class.
