  • Take out your Do Now sheet and answer the following, “Why did Cosimo d’Medici fear going to hell? What did he think would provide the way out?”(3 minutes)
  • Turn to the Medici story notes page in the Renaissance Learning Targets packet. Take notes while watching the remainder of the film. Be prepared to answer questions about the film afterwards if you are randomly called upon! (45 minutes)

  • The “Declaring Independence” deadline was postponed to Monday, 9/23
  • “Path to Revolution is postponed until 9/24.
  • All other deadlines remain the same.

  • Take out your Do Now sheet and answer the following, “How many books do you own?” “How much would you be willing to pay for a book?” (3 minutes)
  • Take out your Renaissance packet. Turn to page 2 and consider your responses to numbers 1-4. (10 minutes)
  • Turn to page 6 of the packet and take notes over the decline of Feudalism. (10 minutes)
  • Turn to page 17 of the packet and prepare to follow along with the presentation as we continue with the Northern Renaissance. (30 minutes)
  • Turn to the Story notes page for The Medici: Makers of Modern Art and prepare to take notes over the video. (30 minutes)

  • Take out your Do Now sheet and answer the following, “How does Renaissance art represent a paradigm shift from the Middle Ages? Give an example from Boticelli’s ‘Adoration of the Magi’” (3 minutes)
  • Pick up the Renaissance Learning Targets Packet from the tray by the door.
  • Watch and answer questions during the presentation on Renaissance art.  How does this artwork show differences between people of the Renaissance and the middle ages?  (45 minutes).
  • With any time remaining, we will begin watching “The Medici.”  Follow along and make notes in the Renaissance packet.
