  • Do Now- “Predict why the U.S. and U.S.S.R. go so quickly from being wartime allies to post-war rivals.
  • Pick up Cold War vocab and learning targets packets.
  • Turn in WWII essays by tomorrow.
  • Rise of Totalitarianism Test corrections (20 minutes)
  • WWII Test corrections (20 minutes)
  • Work on the Cold War map. We will discuss before the end of the period. Be prepared to answer questions. (15 minutes)
  • Cold War vocab will be due on Tuesday, May 21.

  • Don’t talk to me about the FRQs until tomorrow!
  • The results of the online poll were
    • Start the Film Festival- 503
    • Continue the debates- 500
    • obviously, there are some irregularities in the voting!
  • We started the film festival today with Confederate States of America
    • You will submit a film review to Turnitin.com by next Friday.
    • You may review our 2nd film for extra credit.
  • Enjoy Class Day tomorrow!

  • Do Now- Do you think that the Nuremberg Trials were justified?  How would you propose punishing any Nazi war criminal who might still be discovered (They would all likely be at least in their 90s)?
  • We finished Nuremberg. (35 minutes)
  • Review briefly for test
  • WWII test tomorrow. You will be able to use you learning targets packet. You will want to review the self-evaluation questions on the last 3 pages of the packet prior to the test.

  • We wrapped up the first round of the Presidential Final Four.
  • AP US History exam is tomorrow!
    • Remember the hard work you have put in up to this point.
    • Be sure to bring #2 pencils, eraser, blue or black ink pen, watch, and warm clothes for the Aux. Gym
    • Get some rest and eat a good breakfast

  • Do Now- Why did ordinary Germans participate in (or at least not protest) the Holocaust? (5 minutes)
  • Take out your Nuremberg film study guide and cast of characters.  Prepare to answer the questions while watching the film.  There will be questions from the film on the WWII test.
  • WWII Test is Wednesday. You will be able to use you learning targets packet. Be sure to review the WWII self-assessment on the last 3 pages of the learning targets packet. They are a comprehensive review of the material covered on the assessment.
  • What do you think should be done in the case of Hans Lipschis?

  • We commenced our presidential debates. First round winners Monday:
    • 3rd hour- Bush (41), Bush (43), Clinton, Eisenhower, McKinley, Monroe, Taft
    • 4th hour- Jackson, Jefferson, Kennedy, Polk, T. Roosevelt, Taft, Wilson
  • We will complete the 1st round tomorrow.
  • All unit 8 DBQs submitted by this morning to Turnitin.com have been scored and given at least some feedback.

Due to the AP English Language exam, the debates did not start today.  We will begin immediately on Monday, and we will get through as many as we can. Everyone must be prepared!
