  • Take out your Do Now sheet and answer the following question- “Was there science before the Scientific Revolution?” (3 minutes)
  • Turn in Scientific Revolution/ Enlightenment vocab.
  • Discuss selected scientists from the research page. (15 minutes).
  • Take out the Scientific Revolutions packet.
    • Read “Three Theories of the Solar System.” Answer the questions at the bottom of the page and prepare to discuss. (10 minutes)
    • Complete the “Galileo Studies the Sky” organizer. Be prepared to discuss (15 minutes).
    • Complete “The Scientific Method” page.  Be prepared to discuss (10 minutes)
    • Complete the Scientific Ideas and Discoveries” page.  If you have completed Vesalius, Boyle, and Newton on the research page, you don’t need to duplicate them here. Be prepared to discuss (10 minutes)
  • Packet and research page need to be completed and turned in Friday.

  • Abraham Lincoln assignment due tomorrow.

  • Take out your Do Now sheet and answer the following question- “What is geocentrism? What is heliocentrism”. (3 minutes)
  • Turn in the Battle of Naseby story notes and Do Now 6, if you didn’t on Friday.
  • 5th and 7th – to room 508 for Scientific Revolution research.
  • 4th hour hour, pick up Scientific Revolution packet and work to complete the entire packet.
  • Vocab is due on block day.

Students worked on test corrections for the unit 3 objective test.

Unit 4 handouts were emailed, along with due dates, vocab, and daily reading assignments.

  • Pick up a Do Now sheet and answer the following question- “What causes people (individually or collectively) to change the way they look at the world?”. (3 minutes)
  • Turn in the Battle of Naseby story notes and Do Now 6, if you didn’t on Friday.
  • 4th hour- to room 508 for Scientific Revolution research.
  • 5th and 7th hour, pick up Scientific Revolution packet and work to complete the entire packet.
  • Tomorrow the periods will switch.
  • Vocab is due on block day.

  • Review the Learning Targets page in your packet and take out your Do Now sheets.  Write down any targets that you are not sure about. (3 minutes)
  • Write your name on your test.  Be sure to answer all questions in order on the answer sheet.
  • When finished with the test, turn it in with the answer sheet to the tray by the door.
  • Pick up the Scientific Revolution and Enlightenment vocab sheet. Due next block day.

  • Do Now- “What were the outcomes of the English Civil War? “ (3 minutes)
  • Pick up the Thirty Years’ War reading, and use it as well as the website at http://www.pipeline.com/~cwa/TYWHome.htm to complete the “Thirty Years’ War Effects” page in the packet. (30 minutes)
  • After finishing with the 30 Years’ War, use pages 169-173 in your text to complete the “Emergence of Austria and Prussia” page in the packet. (25 minutes)
  • Answer learning targets questions in your packet. You will be able to use this page only on your test Friday.

We completed the unit 3 presentations!

We also looked at unit 2 DBQ samples and rubric.

I distributed the unit 3 DBQ packet and student planning worksheet in class.  We will write the DBQ on Monday. The objective test is Friday.  Be sure to review in TheTestingCenter.com.
