We briefly discussed Tocqueville’s Democracy in America.  Students then took the chapter 11, 12 vocab quiz.  After finishing the quiz, students had time to work on their unit 3 presentations.  Presentations will begin on Friday.

• Turned in Absolutism vocab to the tray on the front table.
• Bellringer question- Why would people consent to be ruled by an absolute monarch?
• Turned to the Philip II (ruled 1556-1598) page in the packet and answer the questions using pp. 155-159 in your textbook.
• By the end of the day students should be able to answer learning target questions 4 & 5.

Students took the Exploration test.

6th hour turned in the map, the map packet, and the Columbus questions.

7th hour turned in the map, the map packet, the Tokugawa Shogunate, and Ming Expedition questions.

We talked about the War of 1812.

We reviewed the content of the Exploration map packet for most of the period.  I then reviewed with students what they will need to know for the Exploration test on Friday.

We discussed the War of 1812 (podcast coming soon).  Students continued to work on their Unit 3 presentations.  These will be due Friday, November 6.
