Students checked out textbooks and picked up the assignments and due dates for unit 1.  Students then started reading excerpts from 1491.  They are to highlight and define unfamiliar vocabulary and write questions about things they don’t understand, want more information about, or disagree with.  These questions will be the basis for a discussion Monday in class.
