I presented notes over the causes and effects of Absolutism, followed by the first part of a lecture on Absolutism in Europe.  For the last 50 minutes of class, students watched a video about the Spanish Armada and are to complete the study guide for tomorrow.  Question #5 on the study guide will require some thought (as well as deductive reasoning), to connect those causes of absolutism to the Spanish Armada.

I provided a very broad overview of the 2nd Great Awakening and Transcendentalism, not wanting to steal the thunder from anyone’s topic presentation.

For the last part of the period, students had time to work on their presentations or Discourse.
