Students took the geography quiz, and then picked up and started working on the vocab for the Middle Ages and Renaissance. The information for the first four terms may be found here. The Vocab worksheet will be due next week on block.

Students turned in the Geography terms packet, and we went over it in class. I then presented a review of the geography standards terms and locations students will need to know for the geography quiz Friday.

Students continued to work on the Native American wiki pages. These will need to be done by class on Friday. Also, don’t forget the very first vocab quiz is Friday, covering chapters 1 & 2.

Students watched the conclusion of The Mystery of the First Americans. Students then chose partners and people groups for a Native American Cultures wiki page. The motion picture analysis worksheet for the film will be due tomorrow, along with the 3 Colonial Sections homework.

Students worked on the online geography quizzes at Sheppard Software. Those who didn’t finish in class need to finish on their own to prepare for Friday’s geography quiz. Students then received the geography terms packet. This should be done by the end of class tomorrow.

Students received information from Mr. Hult about College Now enrollment. We then began to consider the questions surrounding the arrival of humans in North America. Students were introduced to some of the issues in the film, The Mystery of the First Americans.

We looked at state standards, and previewed the geography standards that we will work on first. Students then started identifying countries on a current map of Europe. We will go over this on Friday. Students also created accounts for the online edition of the textbook so they will be able to access it from wherever they have internet access.

Students checked out textbooks and picked up assignments for unit 1. Due dates may be found here. We discussed the merits of the text, and continued to work on the critical thinking exercises we started on Tuesday.

Students checked out textbooks and we reviewed the directives. Students need to return the directives signed by parent/guardian, along with markers and colored pencils by the end of the week.
